Kilgetty sits just a few miles inland from the Pembrokeshire coast, serving as a practical crossroads between the seaside bustle of Saundersfoot and the market town of Narberth. Historically, the village grew around its connection to the local anthracite mines and the railway, but today it functions largely as a self-sufficient hub for the surrounding rural communities. It’s a fairly level, easy-to-navigate village centered around a useful cluster of amenities, including a sizeable supermarket, a pharmacy, and a traditional pub, the White Lion. The railway station remains a key feature, keeping the village connected to the main line, while the nearby A477 provides straightforward road access toward the Cleddau Bridge and the west of the county. Life here tends to be quieter than in the neighboring coastal resorts, offering a more settled, year-round pace while still having the beaches of Wiseman's Bridge and Amroth just a short drive or a steady walk away.
