Wimborne Minster, or simply Wimborne as most of us call it, is a Dorset market town defined by its position at the confluence of the Rivers Stour and Allen. The skyline is dominated by the twin towers of the Minster church, which has stood at the heart of the community for over 1,300 years and still houses a rare 17th-century chained library. Built largely from local limestone and warm red brick, the town centre retains a traditional layout of narrow streets and courtyards, branching out from the main square which hosts a regular Friday market. While we are just five miles north of the Poole and Bournemouth conurbation, the town feels distinct and self-contained, bordered by the expansive Kingston Lacy estate to the west. It is a practical place to live, with a mix of independent shops and daily amenities that keep the centre busy throughout the week, all set against a backdrop of water meadows that provide a clear sense of where the town ends and the countryside begins.
