Lying right at the heart of the Black Country between Wolverhampton and Walsall, Willenhall is a town defined by its industrious roots. It is internationally recognised as the historical home of the British lock-making industry, a heritage still visible today in the architecture of the town centre and the dedicated Lock Museum on Canning Road. Geographically, it’s a practical spot for those needing to get around the West Midlands; it sits just off the M6, and the A454 provides a direct link between the neighbouring large towns. While much of the local economy has shifted from heavy manufacturing, the town retains a busy, functional feel with a traditional market that has been running for decades. Much of the life here revolves around the Memorial Park, an expansive green space that offers a quiet break from the surrounding urban density, and the nearby Bentley Haye nature reserve, which marks the edge of the more built-up residential areas.
