Talybont sits where the River Ystwyth meets the Leri on the coastal plain of Ceredigion, about seven miles north of Aberystwyth. It is a village defined largely by its working history and its physical landscape; the name itself translates from the Welsh as ‘end of the bridge,’ referring to the crossing over the river. Originally a hub for the local silver and lead mining industries, the village is now a settled community centered around a large green and a handful of functional amenities, including two pubs, a primary school, and a pharmacy. Geographically, it occupies a practical middle ground between the university bustle of Aberystwyth and the quieter, more rugged terrain of the Cambrian Mountains to the east. Daily life here is shaped by the weather blowing in from the coast and the proximity to the Borth and Ynyslas marshes, keeping the atmosphere feeling open and connected to the surrounding farmland.
