Studley sits right on the edge of the Warwickshire and Worcestershire border, essentially operating as a very large village that follows the line of the A435. It has a practical, industrious history, once serving as a global centre for needle and bodkin manufacturing, and you can still see that heritage in the old mill buildings dotted around. Geographically, it’s well-placed for anyone needing to get to Redditch, which is just a couple of miles north, or Alcester to the south, while the surrounding Arrow Valley provides some decent green space for walking. The village manages to keep a distinct identity from its larger neighbours, with a long high street that holds a mix of independent shops and essential services. It’s a functional, well-connected spot that feels established and settled, tucked into a pocket of the Midlands where the urban sprawl finally starts to give way to proper countryside.
