Kilsby sits on the ridge of the Northamptonshire uplands, just south of the border with Warwickshire and roughly five miles from the centre of Rugby. It is a village defined by a mix of ironstone and brick-built houses, centered around the historic St Andrew’s Church. Historically, the village is noted for its connection to the pioneering days of the railway; the Kilsby Tunnel, an extraordinary engineering feat overseen by Robert Stephenson in the 1830s, runs directly beneath the parish. Today, it remains a practical spot for those who need easy access to the motorway network, with the M1, M6, and A5 all meeting nearby at Catthorpe Interchange. Despite this connectivity, the village core keeps a quiet character, supported by two traditional pubs and a community-run shop. It offers a useful balance for daily life, sitting within the catchment for Guilsborough Academy while benefiting from the extensive retail and mainline rail services found just over the hill in Rugby.
