Wesham is a quiet, small-scale town in the Fylde, situated roughly midway between the coastal energy of Blackpool and the city centre of Preston. Historically, it was defined by the weaving trade, though today it functions largely as a residential hub that merges almost seamlessly with its larger neighbour, Kirkham. Geographically, it’s defined by its flat, open landscapes and its position just north of the M55, which makes getting around the North West relatively straightforward. The local railway station, Kirkham & Wesham, is a key feature of the town, providing direct links to Manchester and the West Coast Main Line. For those who know the area, Wesham is often appreciated for its slower pace compared to the surrounding urban centres, with the local landscape still retaining a patchwork of agricultural fields that remind you of its traditional rural roots.
