Llanrhystud is a coastal village in Ceredigion, positioned where the river Wyre meets the sea roughly nine miles south of Aberystwyth. It is a linear settlement, split by the main A487, but the heart of the village still feels defined by its agricultural roots and its proximity to the flat, shingle coastline. Historically, it was a point of pilgrimage on the route to St Davids, and the prominent spire of St Rhystud’s Church remains the local landmark. Life here tends to revolve around a few key anchors: the village shop and post office, the local primary school, and the pub. The nearby beach is a quiet stretch of the Wales Coast Path, popular with locals for walks towards the lime kilns, and while it lacks the commercial bustle of bigger seaside spots, it offers a distinct sense of space between the hills and the Irish Sea.
