Llanfyrnach is a quiet, inland village and parish tucked away in the northeastern corner of Pembrokeshire, sitting near the border with Carmarthenshire and the foothills of the Preseli Mountains. Historically, the area was defined by its silver-lead mines, which were a significant source of local employment during the 18th and 19th centuries, though today the landscape is almost entirely defined by agriculture. The village is centered around the parish church dedicated to Saint Brynach, from whom the name originates, and the nearby River Taf flows through the valley, offering a lush, sheltered feel compared to the exposed moorland nearby. While it is a peaceful spot with a strong sense of Welsh identity, it remains practical for daily life; the larger village of Crymych is only a few miles away, providing the local secondary school, shops, and essential services that keep this rural community functioning.
