Fleckney sits in a gentle dip of the South Leicestershire landscape, about nine miles south of Leicester and close to the market town of Market Harborough. Historically a small farming community, the village underwent a significant transformation in the 19th century when the brickmaking and hosiery industries arrived, leaving behind a legacy of Victorian cottages and the landmark Wolsey factory building.
