Ticknall is a charming village located in the south of Derby, surrounded by stunning rolling hills and immaculate green pastures. This small, picturesque village is steeped in history, with numerous examples of lovely Georgian and Victorian architecture spread out throughout the area. It was once a prosperous center for industry thanks to its deposits of limestone, which were used in construction throughout the region. Today, however, the town trades predominantly in agriculture and tourism. The nearby Calke Abbey is a popular visitor attraction and offers tours of its magnificent architecture and impressive gardens. Despite its size, Ticknall has a thriving community with active social clubs, sports teams, local markets and picnic spots that are perfect for quiet afternoons spent relaxing in this picturesque little corner of Derbyshire.
