Nestled along the Ceredigion coast just six miles north of Cardigan, Aberporth is defined by its two sheltered sandy beaches, Dolwen and Dyffryn, which are divided by a rocky outcrop at low tide. Historically a busy port for the limestone and salt trade, and once a hub for the local herring industry, the village now maintains a quieter pace, though it remains a focal point for the surrounding rural communities. The landscape here is dominated by the dramatic cliffs of the Ceredigion Coastal Path, providing a direct walking route toward Tresaith to the east and Mwnt to the west. While the village is known for its clear waters and frequent bottlenose dolphin sightings, it also serves a practical role as the home of the ParcAberporth technology park and the MoD range, which have been major local employers for decades. Most day-to-day amenities, including a pharmacy, a village shop, and a primary school, are located within the village itself, while more extensive services and secondary schooling are found in nearby Cardigan.
