Buckley sits on a prominent ridge in Flintshire, positioned roughly halfway between the city of Chester and the town of Mold. Historically, the town was defined by its geology; the heavy clay soil fueled a world-renowned pottery and brickmaking industry for centuries, and you can still see the remnants of this industrial past in the local architecture and the landscape of the "Heritage Trail." Today, the town has outgrown its industrial roots to become one of the largest residential areas in the county. It functions as a practical hub for the region, with its own busy high street and several primary schools, while being well-connected to the A55 and the motorway networks for those heading toward the North West or deeper into North Wales. Life here tends to centre around the Common - a large open green space that survived the clay pits - which provides a sense of openness right in the middle of a built-up area.
