Monkton Wyld is a small village nestled in the beautiful countryside just outside Bridport, in the county of Dorset, England. The name "Monkton" comes from the monks who originally settled in the area during the Middle Ages, and "Wyld" refers to the wild and untamed nature of the surrounding landscape. Today, Monkton Wyld is a peaceful and idyllic place to live, with a strong sense of community and plenty of local amenities. The village is home to a number of historic buildings, including St Andrew's Church and Monkton Wyld Court, which was once a stately home but is now an alternative education centre. With easy access to both the coast and countryside, Monkton Wyld offers residents the best of both worlds, with plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities such as walking, cycling and birdwatching.
