Acocks Green sits about five miles southeast of Birmingham city centre, acting as a busy gateway between the city and Solihull. It isn't a "green" in the traditional rural sense anymore, but the name traces back to the Acock family, who built their home here in the 14th century. Today, life revolves around ‘The Village’ - the district centre where the Warwick Road meets Westley Road - which retains a functional, linear layout. One of its most practical features is the transport link; the railway station is on the Chiltern Main Line, meaning you can get into Moor Street in under ten minutes or head south toward London Marylebone. Architecturally, you’ll find a mix of high-ceilinged Victorian villas and the sprawling semi-detached avenues typical of the 1930s. It’s a well-established suburb that feels self-contained, with Fox Hollies Park providing a decent expanse of open space and fishing lakes just tucked away from the main commuter run.
